The SAFKEG-HS package is designed to be robust and simple to use. The package consists of a stainless steel Outer Keg which carries a stainless steel and DU Shielding Pot within cork packing. This package was developed by Croft LTD for shipping radioisotopes that historically have been shipped in a DOT Spec 20WC1

• Designed as a reusable Type B package for the shipment of solid and liquid radioactive materials.
• The Outer Keg is fabricated in stainless steel with a flange type lid fastened by studs and nuts.
• The Shielding Pot is a DU filled vessel with a fabricated stainless steel shell and cavity walls and a flange type lid fitted with double O–ring seals and fastened by screws.

Comments

Additional shielding is provided by the tungsten inserts which fit into the containment vessel cavity to carry the contents.
