Husky Ultra-High Pressure Water Jet

Category: Decontamination > Mechanical Surface Removal > Ultra-High Pressure Water
Reference # : Model No : HUSKY

The ultra-high pressure water jet technology acts as a cutting tool for the removal of surface coatings and substrates. The HUSKY ultra high-pressure pump supplies water to a system of rotating nozzles that sprays the water stream onto the surface of concrete. The system requires a water supply of six gallons per minute. The inlet water is routed through a five micron water filter to the pump inlet check valves. The pump generates up to 40,000 psi of water pressure and uses diesel fuel. The concrete coating or substrate is removed by the kinetic impact of the water stream. The combination of the coating/substrate and water is flushed away from the surface. For the removal of secondary waste, a system is needed to collect and separate the debris from the secondary water. Both need to be treated. Dimensions of Tech Model (LxWxH): 71.3 in. x 59.3 in. x 98 in. Weight of Tech Model (lb): 7000

Benefits

Water is readily available. The water mist reduces airborne contamination. Able to reach and flush convoluted surfaces. System can be adjusted to remove individual coating layer. Nozzle reaction forces are minimal, minimizing operator fatigue.

Limitations

Operators must be protected from the direct impingement of the water jet. An additional system must be used to collect, filter, and recycle stripping water containing coating/ substrate debris.
