In September 2000, several technology vendors demonstrated their technologies at the FIU-HCET test site. One of them was Roto-Rooter® who demonstrated the baseline technologies of Ridgid snake® and high pressure water with Harben Jet®. They applied these familiar pipeline unplugging technologies to Test Beds #1 and #2 in an attempt to locate and remove the hard adherent and bulky clay-like blockages.

Benefits

The technology requires short mobilization and demobilization time. It is commercially available.

Limitations

Water is not contained or recycled with high water usage.
