Blastrac 1-8DEC

Category: Decontamination > Mechanical Surface Removal > Shot Blasting
Reference # : Model No : Blastrac 1-8DEC

The Blastrac 1-8DEC is a portable blast cleaning system that was engineered for small to medium surface area removal with an 8 in cleaning path and 1.5 in. removal gap. The system works at a voltage of 230V, 12A. The system is effective for using in small surface areas and hard to reach wall edges and corners. The speed of the blast wheel and the type of abrasive media used can control the removal depth attained by this unit. A connecting vacuum unit model 127-DC collects the airborne dust and contaminants released by blasting operation. The vacuum hose length is 28 ft and a power cord length of 30 ft. Dimensions of Tech Model (LxWxH): 3 ft. 11 in. x 3 ft. 3 in. x 1 ft. Weight of Tech Model (lb.): 181 lbs.

Benefits

Magnetic seals minimize the loss of abrasive media during operation. Seals can be removed to blast edges and corners. The edging process produces minimal dust and airborne contaminants. Easy to operate, requires little training. Leaves surface smooth and ready for repainting or reuse. The vacuum unit minimizes operator exposure to dust. Good production rate.

Limitations

The system needs a magnet broom to completely pick up waste media after operation. Since the equipment is manual travel speed, the time efficiency depends just on operator's fatigue. The Blastrac cannot remove 1.5 in. of gap on corners. The Blastrac cannot work in wet surface.
