77A Air Angle Grinders, Sanders and Polishers are designed for smoothing, trimming or removing metal in close-quarter areas in foundries, shipyards, steel mills and in construction application.

Benefits

Technology is mobile, easy to operate, and relatively simple to set up and tear down. Production rate is relatively high and depends on how closed the protrusion was welded to the glove box and/or tank. Cutting activities can be conducted under safe conditions for operators, evaluators and the environment. Rigging equipment was not required since FRAMATOME's operators size reduced each surrogates in manageable small pieces facilitating manual removal.

Limitations

The rotating cutting tool may be a hazard for operator if tool is not operated properly. Eye and ear protection must be used during cutting operations. Air angle grinder continues to impact briefly after throttle is released, that may become a hazard for operator if not operated properly. This tool vibrates during use, which may be harmful for operator hands and arms. If protrusions are too closed to the glove box and/or tank (>4 in.) the air angle grinder cannot remove them. Sparking, and hot metal debris are generated during cutting operation, which are harmful for operator if not protected properly.
