ROVCO2 is a remotely operated vehicle that is equipped with a front and rear camera for visual output. The CO2 blasting system shoots pellets of dry ice propelled by pressurized gas at the surface being cleaned. The velocity of the dry ice pellets fractures and chips away a layer of the contaminated surface. At the moment of impact, the pellets return to a gaseous state which is vacuumed up with the debris by the built-in vacuum system.
Remote operation reduces risk to working personnel. Use of CO2 to remove contaminants does not generate secondary waste, thus minimizing waste generation.
Blast hopper must be manually filled. Reliability of equipment.
