Fork Detector (IAEA)

Category: Characterization > Monitors > Radiation Monitors
Reference # : Model No : B2102

ANTECH B2102 Series Fork Detectors are non-destructive measurement tools used for safeguards purposes and to determine radiation activity from spent fuel assemblies underwater. They come in three configurations: BWR, PWR, and VVER, with different inner distances between the tines of the detector head. All other components are identical, and the detectors are designed for ease of transportation and quick setup.

Benefits

Can be supplied as a system with all commercially available neutron counting shift registers. Designed for ease of decontamination. Easily assembled and dismantled for transportation between facilities. Highly reliable detector electronics. Components leak tested prior to delivery. Detector head and extension pipes supplied in reusable type transportation containers. BWR, PWR, and VVER detector components to a common design, enabling substitution of detector head geometries.

Limitations

Requires specialized knowledge and training to operate effectively. Expensive due to the use of high-quality materials and advanced technology. May require periodic maintenance and calibration to ensure accurate readings. Limited to measuring neutron and gamma radiation activity from spent fuel assemblies underwater.
