The Skydio Dock for X10 is a rugged, fully autonomous drone docking station designed to enable 24/7 remote operations of the Skydio X10 drone. Built for field deployment in harsh environments, the Dock houses the drone in a temperature-controlled chamber and supports rapid deployment with a 20-second launch time. Combined with 5G and Starlink connectivity, the Dock allows operators to execute missions from anywhere in the world, offering real-time airspace and weather data, automated preflight checks, and seamless Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations. It’s built to keep working when conditions get tough, extending the reach and responsiveness of aerial operations.
Benefits
The Dock enables continuous, unattended drone operations, allowing users to conduct scheduled inspections, monitor assets, or respond to incidents without deploying personnel on-site. Its ability to operate in extreme temperatures and weather conditions ensures mission readiness around the clock. Integrated with Skydio Remote Ops and DFR Command, the Dock supports centralized fleet management and real-time situational awareness across multiple locations. With built-in NightSense capabilities, it facilitates safe and precise autonomous flight in complete darkness. Seamless transitions between point-to-point and 5G connectivity eliminate range limitations, making the system ideal for remote or large-scale environments.
Limitations
While the Dock dramatically increases operational efficiency, it comes with infrastructure and connectivity dependencies—requiring stable power, internet access and proper site setup for continuous use. The system's advanced features may require regulatory clearance for BVLOS flights, especially in restricted airspace. Initial deployment also demands integration with backend software platforms and trained personnel to ensure safe operation and maintenance. Lastly, while weather-resistant, the Dock still adheres to environmental operating thresholds and may require downtime during extreme events such as high winds or severe storms.
