Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)

 RCRA, an amendment to the Solid Waste Disposal Act, was passed in 1976 to address the problem of how to safely dispose of municipal and industrial solid waste generated nationwide. it establishes\d a national policy to reduce or eliminate hazardous waste and conduct treatment, storage, or disposal to minimize its threat. RCRA was amended by the Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments in 1984 to expand RCRA's scope and add detailed requirements
